Muthoot Fin – Strong PG, but Asset Quality Needs Attention

MUTHOOTFIN
Muthoot Finance reported a 36% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹3,278 crore for the September 2026 quarter, compared with ₹2,412 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company's consolidated assets under management (AUM) grew 42% year-on-year to ₹2.09 lakh crore, reflecting strong expansion in its gold loan business. Gold loans accounted for ₹1.93 lakh crore of the total AUM. However, the results also highlighted concerns over asset quality, as the standalone gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio increased to 3.87% at the end of September from 2.28% in the previous quarter. Standalone net profit rose 27% to ₹2,977 crore. The strong earnings and business growth may support investor sentiment, although the increase in gross NPAs could remain a key factor influencing the stock's performance in the next trading session.
