Bulk & Block Deals in the Indian Stock Market

Dixon Technologies: Promoter Sunil Vachani sold 2.77% stake (16.7 lakh shares) worth ₹2,221 crore at ₹13,301.47/share. Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund bought 2.4% stake (14.45 lakh shares) worth ₹1,923.8 crore at ₹13,307.96/share. Despite selling, Dixon jumped 3.73% to ₹14,571 on NSE — showing strong demand from institutions. Impact: Even though the promoter sold, institutional buying kept the stock strong — positive sign for investors. Hilton Metal Forging Promoter Yuvraj Malhotra sold 19.08 lakh shares (8.15% stake) for ₹14.1 crore at avg ₹73.4–74.99/share. Despite selling, stock rose 2.95% to ₹72.23 — suggesting the market absorbed the sell-off well. Munjal Showa FII Esvee Capital sold 3 lakh shares (0.75% stake) at ₹118.4/share. Stock fell 7% to ₹123.54 — indicating negative sentiment due to foreign selling. Block Deal – Kerala Ayurveda Promoter Katra Holdings sold 22 lakh shares (18.28% stake) at ₹423/share, worth ₹93.06 crore. Big names like Trishakti Power, Aamara Capital, and others bought the shares. Stock hit 20% upper circuit to ₹511.70 — heavy buying interest shown. Takeaway for Retail Investors: • Promoter selling isn’t always negative — if strong buyers step in, the stock can still rally (like Dixon & Kerala Ayurveda). • FII selling, on the other hand, can hurt stock sentiment (like Munjal Showa). • Always track who is buying, not just who is selling. Bulk/Block deals can give early signs of big moves in a stock — keep an eye on them!
