Pre-Market Report & Global Cues | 21 October 2026

Crude above $110 is a growing concern for India. US markets closed strong, while Asian markets are broadly higher, led by South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. GIFT Nifty signals a gap-up of around 100 points after Nifty fell over 1% in the previous session. However, rising crude prices amid concerns over attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure could increase India’s import bill, inflation and pressure on corporate margins. US 10-year yields are near 5.13%, while Indian bond yields have also moved higher. The rupee’s gains remain difficult to sustain. Stocks in Focus Positive triggers: 1. Reliance Industries (Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 Cr IPO opens today). 2. Hindustan Zinc (Q2 profit up 142% YoY to ₹6,412 Cr). 3. LTTS (profit up 66.8% YoY). 4. MRPL and Elecon Engineering (ex-dividend). Caution: 1. Bajaj Finance (gross NPAs rose sequentially). 2. Sobha (Q2 profit down 55%). 3. SML Isuzu (profit down 44%, CFO resigned). 4. Ambuja Cements and Kaynes Technology enter the F&O ban. Market View: Opening cues are positive, but crude above $110 could limit recovery. Company results and the Jio IPO may drive stock-specific moves, while sustained market strength will depend partly on how investors respond to rising oil costs. Educational purposes only. Not a buy/sell recommendation.
