Godrej Consumer stays weak, support 830, resistance 891

Godrej Consumer Products slipped 1.44% to Rs 859.90, with support at Rs 830 and resistance at Rs 891 in a falling sector. Godrej Consumer Products Limited [

GODREJCP
] slipped 1.44% to Rs 859.90 on 7 October, a day after rising on its Q2 business update. The daily trend is still down. The company said Q2 FY27 consolidated revenue growth should be in the high teens, with underlying volume growth in the high single digits and double-digit EBITDA growth. It cited uneven monsoon conditions, El Nino and commodity inflation as pressures. A strong update has not reversed the larger trend. The stock is down 46% from its September 2024 peak, and the Nifty FMCG index is down 33% from its own peak. The trend is bearish and sector-wide. The stock trades below the Rs 891 resistance after a short rebound from the recent low. Immediate support is Rs 830. A close below Rs 830 would open fresh lows. A close above Rs 891 would be the first sign of a trend change. Sector direction matters, since a turn in Nifty FMCG would help any rebound more than company news alone. Volume on any move toward Rs 891 will be the key signal. Disclaimer: I do not hold any position in this stock. This is not a recommendation to buy or sell.
