Molbio Diagnostics has delivered a very strong turnaround in Q1 FY27. Total income jumped 309.6% YoY to ₹411.5 crore, while EBITDA turned positive at ₹103.7 crore versus a ₹14.5 crore loss in Q1 FY26. PAT also turned positive at ₹52.7 crore versus a ₹23.9 crore loss, with EBITDA margin improving to 25.2%.
The biggest growth driver is Truenat test-kit consumption. The company sold around 6.24 million test kits in Q1, compared with 0.79 million a year earlier. More than 12,500 Truenat devices are installed across 90+ countries, creating a recurring test-kit opportunity as the installed base expands.
A major long-term positive is Molbio's international expansion and product pipeline. Management is expanding in Africa and Southeast Asia, entering Latin America and working on regulatory approvals in developed markets. Its pipeline includes 34 additional assays across 22 diseases, which could diversify the business beyond infectious diseases into oncology and other non-communicable diseases
