Role of Volume Indicator in Trading Charts

SBILIFE
The Volume Indicator shows the number of shares or contracts traded during a specific period and helps traders understand the strength of price movements. When the price increases with high volume, it indicates strong buying interest and may support the continuation of an uptrend. Similarly, when the price decreases with high volume, it suggests strong selling pressure. Low volume during a price rise or fall may indicate weak participation and a higher possibility of a reversal or consolidation. Volume is also useful for confirming chart patterns such as breakouts, breakouts from support or resistance, and trend reversals. For example, a breakout accompanied by high volume is generally considered more significant than one with low volume. Volume should be used alongside price action, support and resistance, and other technical indicators rather than as a standalone signal.
