Thirumalai Chemicals Limited (TCL) has announced the commencement of the first phase of commercial operations at its step-down wholly owned subsidiary, TCL Specialties LLC, USA (TCLS USA). The new manufacturing facility in the US has started its first sale of Maleic Anhydride (MAN), with phased commissioning expected to be completed by the first half of 2026. The facility includes a MAN plant with a capacity of 40,500 tons/year and a Food Ingredients plant producing 30,000 tons/year of Malic acid and Fumaric acid. MAN is used in various industries, including composites, water treatment, coatings, polymers, and biodegradable applications. TCLS LLC aims to serve MAN customers in the North-Eastern, Mid-West US, and other underserved regional markets.
