Vedanta Targets ₹2,100 Crore Value From Deep Tech

VEDL
Vedanta Aluminium, in collaboration with V-Spark DeepTech Ventures, has announced partnerships with several technology companies and deep-tech startups to accelerate the adoption of AI, digitalisation and automation across its aluminium operations. The initiatives were announced during MetALverse, a technology showcase held at Vedanta Aluminium’s operations in Jharsuguda, Odisha. The company expects the combined technology initiatives to unlock up to ₹2,100 crore in value across its operations. The partnerships are aimed at improving plant productivity, cost optimisation, asset reliability, operational decision-making and sustainability across Vedanta Aluminium’s integrated value chain. The technology partners include major names such as OpenAI, Microsoft, SAP, AVEVA, Rockwell Automation, Thoughtworks and Fives. Vedanta Aluminium has also partnered with deep-tech companies including ***** XYMA, Faclon, DesignX, DigitalPaani, AutoVRse, Enmovil and ideaForge. The initiatives will involve evaluating, piloting and scaling technologies across areas including AI-driven process optimisation, industrial data and digital twins, smart manufacturing, high-temperature asset monitoring, logistics, water optimisation and drone-based industrial intelligence. Vedanta Aluminium and V-Spark intend to use the company's large-scale manufacturing facilities as real-world environments to validate these technologies before expanding successful solutions across operations. For Vedanta Limited, the development highlights the group's broader push toward technology-led transformation across its mining, metals and manufacturing businesses. The potential value creation is expected to come from improvements in productivity, efficiency, reliability and resource optimisation rather than from a direct order or investment of ₹2,100 crore.
