ZYDUS LIFESCIENCES: LAUNCHES FIRST GENERIC OF ADEMPAS IN THE U.S.

• Zydus Lifesciences, in collaboration with MSN Laboratories, has launched the first generic version of Adempas® (Riociguat) in the U.S. market. • Riociguat tablets are available in 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.5 mg, 2 mg and 2.5 mg strengths and are FDA-approved as a generic equivalent of Adempas®. • The product was developed and manufactured by MSN Laboratories, while Zydus brings its established U.S. commercial platform to the partnership. • Riociguat is indicated for adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and certain forms of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). • Global sales of branded Adempas were approximately EUR 745 million (around USD 850 million) in 2025, according to Bayer’s 2025 annual report. Impact: Positive — Being the first generic entrant gives Zydus an early-mover opportunity in a sizeable specialty-drug market and strengthens its complex-generics portfolio. However, the eventual financial benefit will depend on pricing, market penetration and competition.
