KEI Industries: Strong Results, But Why Did the Stock Fall?

Imagine a company selling more products and earning higher profits, but its share price still ***** is what happened with KEI Industries in Q2 FY27.

KEI
The company reported a **29% rise in net profit to ₹262 crore**, while revenue grew **39% to ₹3,776 crore** compared with the same quarter last year. Domestic wires and cables sales increased by around 46%, supported by strong demand and dealer sales. Extra-high-voltage cable sales also grew, showing progress in specialised products. Despite these positive numbers, the stock fell **7.75% to ₹3,902.20** during Thursday's trading session. Why? The stock market does not react only to company profits. Investors also consider future growth, valuation, market expectations and the outlook for coming quarters. The exact reason for this fall cannot be confirmed from the reported figures alone. Infrastructure development, housing demand and power projects can support the wires and cables industry. However, business growth does not guarantee that a stock price will rise. Strong profits matter, but investors should also study valuation, expectations, future demand, cash flow, competition and risks before evaluating any company.
