📈 Steel Leads India’s Core Sector Surge in August

Picture the heart of India’s economy—the eight core industries that power our cities and farms: coal, crude oil, steel, cement, electricity, natural gas, refinery products, and fertilizers. In August 2025, this “core” pulsed with fresh energy, output jumped 6.3%, hitting the fastest pace in 13 months. What’s the secret? Steel demand soared—output shot up a massive 14.2%—thanks to more bridges, new highways, and bustling construction sites everywhere. Coal output punched 11.4% higher, and cement rose 6.1%, all signaling that building is back in style. On the farm, fertilizer output climbed 4.6%, promising better harvests ahead. Electricity and refinery products (petrol, diesel, LPG) grew moderately, brightening cities and fueling movement. Still, oil and natural gas slipped further, a reminder that not every corner of the industrial map is booming. Which stocks might “shine” when the core sector heats up? Tata Steel
