ICICI Life Insurance reports 25% rise in Q2 net profit

ICICI Life Insurance has reported its results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2FY27). The company has reported a 25.05% rise in its standalone net profit at Rs 374.22 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, as compared to Rs 299.26 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Net premium income increased by 16.56% to Rs 13,803.90 crore for Q2FY27 as compared to Rs 11,843.10 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. View : The Q2 VNB margin came in at 25.4%, just below the street's projection of 25.79%. This compression is primarily due to a shifting product mix toward lower-margin unit-linked insurance plans (ULIPs). While a 24.7% rise in net profit to Rs. 374.22 crore is objectively robust, the market had priced in expectations of Rs. 381 crore. For long-term investors, the combination of robust VNB growth and deep valuation discounts relative to historical targets makes this correction look more like an accumulation window than a structural breakdown.
