Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG sets a new safety benchmark
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has secured a 5-star safety rating for its XUV 3XO ZNG under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP), becoming India's first sub-compact CNG SUV to achieve this milestone. The XUV 3XO ZNG scored 29.36 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection (COP). The achievement builds on the safety credentials of the XUV 3XO, which secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating in November 2024. The SUV comes equipped with over 35 standard safety features including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. Its dedicated CNG safety systems include integrated gas-leak detection that automatically switches the vehicle to petrol mode when a leak is detected. Outlook: Mahindra is well-positioned to disrupt the premium sub-compact CNG SUV segment with the highly anticipated market launch of the XUV 3XO ZNG. Fueled by a surge in demand for factory-fitted CNG and the approach of stricter CAFE III fuel-efficiency standards in April 2027, this new model is set to be a major growth driver. It builds directly on the momentum of the broader XUV 3XO brand, which recently crossed the 500,000 domestic sales milestone. Disclosure : I do not hold any position in the mentioned stock.
