State Bank of India reports 20% surge in Q2 profit

The financial results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2FY27), have been officially reported by the State Bank of India. The bank has reported a 14.28% rise in its net profit at Rs 23,037.95 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, as compared to Rs 20,159.67 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income increased by 6.53% to Rs 1,43,796.01 crore for Q2FY27 as compared to Rs 1,34,979.47 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. On a consolidated basis, the bank has reported a 19.98% rise in its net profit at Rs 25,361.16 crore for Q2FY27, as compared to Rs 21,137.33 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income increased by 6.74% to Rs 1,87,756.19 crore for Q2FY27 as compared to Rs 1,75,897.79 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Outlook: Although SBI beat core market expectations for net profits and NII, a minor 1.4% YoY dip in standalone operating profit (before provisions) to Rs. 26,937 crore reflected a slight operational miss. Gross advances for the bank surged 17.84% YoY to Rs. 52.08 lakh crore, while total deposits rose 12.27% to Rs. 62.78 lakh crore. Disclosure : I do not hold any position in the mentioned stock.
