Jio IPO Day 2: Subscription Hits 5.23x, GMP at 22%
India’s IPO market has a big story unfolding! Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore IPO received 5.23 times overall subscription by Day 2, with institutional investors leading the demand.
Think of Jio as a business that started by connecting people through mobile networks. Now, it wants to expand its reach through home broadband, cloud computing, enterprise services and artificial intelligence (AI).
The IPO’s grey market premium (GMP) stood at around ₹246, suggesting a potential listing price of ₹1,365 against the upper issue price of ₹1,119. But remember, GMP is unofficial and does not guarantee listing gains.
The company plans to use up to ₹27,500 crore of the net proceeds to repay or prepay borrowings of its subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm.
