CONCOR
Container Corporation of India ( NSE : CONCOR) is a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways. It transports containers by rail and provides integrated logistics services through 68 terminals, 15 logistics parks and a fleet of 56,008 containers. Its network links industrial hubs to major ports.
What happened:
In Q1FY27, consolidated revenue from operations grew 0.28% to Rs 2,159.76 crore. Consolidated profit rose 0.61% to Rs 268.90 crore. EXIM logistics, which accounts for 66.4% of revenue, grew 2.33% to Rs 1,433.65 crore. Domestic logistics fell 3.53% to Rs 726.11 crore. Lower total expenses helped improve profit before tax by 3.17% to Rs 360.11 crore, despite near-flat revenue.
Why it matters:
CONCOR placed wagon orders worth Rs 573 crore in October 2026, adding 36 rakes of BLSS wagons. In February 2026, it co-signed an MOU to establish the Bharat Container Shipping Line with the Shipping Corporation of India and three port authorities, to build a domestic shipping ecosystem and cut dependence on foreign operators. India’s container market is projected to reach $881.5 million by FY34 at a 10.4% CAGR.
What I am watching:
The stock closed at Rs 413.85 on 30 October 2026, down 25.7% over one year, at 25.8 times earnings and a yield of 2.08%. JP Morgan maintained a Hold with a Rs 500 price target. Domestic logistics fell while EXIM grew; any further softness in trade volumes will pressure revenue. New wagon deliveries run to June 2028.
My stance:
The network is genuinely difficult to replicate. But revenue growth is currently flat and the stock has de-rated sharply. The long-term container opportunity is real. The near-term earnings do not yet reflect it.
I do not hold a position in CONCOR at the time of writing. This is not investment advice.#StockInNews#EquityResearch#FundamentalViews#TrendingSectors
