Asian Paints, India’s leading decorative paints manufacturer
ASIANPAINT Asian Paints, India’s leading decorative paints manufacturer, reported a mixed but encouraging performance for Q2 FY27. Consolidated net sales increased 16.9% YoY to ₹9,953.9 crore, while net profit rose 7.5% to ₹1,067.6 crore. Domestic decorative paints volume grew 6.4%, and international sales increased 29.5%, reflecting healthy demand and business expansion. However, operating margins declined to 15.6% from 17.7% due to sharp raw material inflation, geopolitical disruptions and higher input costs. The company announced an interim dividend of ₹5.75 per share and plans further price hikes to offset rising costs. Asian Paints has strong brand value, distribution reach and long-term growth potential, but increasing competition from Birla Opus and JSW Paints, along with margin pressure, remains a concern. Overall, fundamentals remain strong, but investors should closely monitor volume growth, margins, competition and valuation before making investment decisions
