Omaxe Secures Fresh Funding as Tier-2 Realty Expansion Gains Momentum

OMAXE
has raised ₹75 crore from WSB Partners to support residential housing projects in Ujjain and Indore. The funding will primarily be used for project development and expansion in Madhya Pradesh, where demand for organized housing is rising steadily. The move reflects increasing investor interest in Tier-2 city real estate markets, particularly in cities benefiting from infrastructure upgrades, religious tourism, and urban expansion. Ujjain has seen growing attention following the Mahakal Corridor development, while Indore continues to emerge as one of India’s fastest-growing urban centers. The funding also highlights how developers are increasingly relying on alternative financing partnerships to accelerate project execution and maintain liquidity amid rising construction costs. Industry Outlook India’s real estate sector is witnessing a gradual geographic shift beyond metro cities. Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are attracting stronger developer and investor attention due to lower land costs, infrastructure growth, and improving urban demand. (***** This trend is being supported by government infrastructure spending, highway connectivity, and rising demand for affordable and mid-income housing outside traditional metro markets. Religious tourism hubs like Ujjain are also becoming increasingly important for real estate-led economic activity. However, financing remains a key challenge for developers. Rising borrowing costs and project execution risks continue to pressure balance sheets, especially for companies expanding aggressively into multiple regions. Delays in approvals or weaker-than-expected demand can quickly affect cash flows. Overall, the sector outlook remains positive due to urbanization and infrastructure-led growth, but the next phase of expansion is increasingly shifting toward emerging cities rather than saturated metro markets.
