🚀 A Historic Leap for India’s Space Industry by
HAL
🌌
On September 10, 2025, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (
HAL
), in collaboration with IN-SPACe, NSIL, and ISRO, signed the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) Technology Transfer Agreement in Bengaluru.
The SSLV is a three-stage vehicle capable of launching satellites under 500 kg into Low Earth Orbit (LEO). This agreement empowers HAL with:
🔹 A 2-year technology absorption phase, followed by a 10-year production phase
🔹 Rights to comprehensive design, manufacturing, integration & launch operations
🔹 Non-exclusive license to build, own & operate SSLV for Indian and global markets
With this milestone, HAL transitions from a component supplier to a full-scale launch service provider, strengthening its long-term strategy to establish a dedicated space vertical.
This strategic step places HAL at the forefront of the rapidly expanding small satellite market, marking a new era where India’s aerospace and defence capabilities meet global commercial space demand.
🌍 From aircraft to spacecraft – HAL is redefining horizons.
