The project covers tunnels T-13, T-14, T-15 and T-16 under the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag New Broad Gauge Rail Line Project. Pre Market Analysis & Global Cues | 01 September, 2026

Global cues are slightly weak this morning. Tensions between the US and Iran have increased again, and there were strikes near the Strait of Hormuz. Because of this, crude oil has moved up. Brent is around $91, and this is not good for our market. Higher crude means pressure on inflation and the rupee. US markets closed slightly lower. Dow was down 0.7% and S&P fell 0.3%. At the same time, US 10Y yield has moved up to around 4.78%, which is on the higher side. Asian markets are mixed. Taiwan is slightly positive, while Japan, Korea and Hong Kong are in red. Because of this, Gift Nifty is indicating a 50–80 point gap-up, so the start may be slightly positive but volatile. Crude will be the key again today. It has moved from high-80s to around $91 in the last few sessions. If it stays high, pressure can come on the market. The rupee is near 95.1 and still weak. Also, India 10Y yield is around 6.95%, which is important for banking stocks. One positive from the domestic side: India’s Q1 GDP came at 7.8%, better than expectations. There will be strong stock-specific action today. Because of MSCI rebalancing, Laurus Labs and Adani Energy Solutions may see inflows, while SBI Cards, Astral and Balkrishna Industries may see some selling. In terms of news: E2E Networks is in focus after a ₹1,000 Cr AI deal. NCC and Ashoka Buildcon have order wins. Transformers & Rectifiers has also secured a nuclear-related order. On the weaker side: EPL may see pressure due to stake sale. Some FMCG stocks may remain under watch due to cost concerns. Sector-wise: ONGC and Oil India may stay strong with higher crude. Aviation, paints and tyre stocks may see pressure. Event to watch: Manufacturing PMI at 10:30 AM. Today's View: The start may be slightly positive, but overall tone is cautious. Crude and bond yields will decide the direction. If crude stays high, the market may struggle to hold gains. Expect a volatile and stock-specific session.

Ashoka Buildcon's stock surged by nearly 15%

ASHOKA
RVNL Order SpecificationsProject Scope: The domestic contract focuses on the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical (E&M) systems for Tunnels T-13, T-14, T-15, and T-16 of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag New Broad Gauge Rail Line Project in Uttarakhand. Technical Requirements: The execution involves installing 33/11kV and 11/0.433kV GIS substations, high/low tension cabling, diesel generator sets, ventilation, and fire-fighting networks. Execution Timeline: The project is slated for completion within 30 months from the commencement date and carries a two-year defect liability period. Financial Terms: Secured via percentage rate bidding, the contract mandates Ashoka Buildcon to submit a performance bank guarantee of ₹25.51 crore to RVNL. Broader Strategic RealignmentThis RVNL win substantially bolsters Ashoka Buildcon’s non-road backlog, easing its historical concentration risk tied to NHAI projects. As of the end of Q1 FY27, the company reported a robust total order book of ₹15,251 crore, offering excellent revenue visibility for the medium ***** the company is actively expanding its footprint in the power sector. Earlier in August, Ashoka Buildcon secured a Letter of Intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy for establishing the Sakoli substation in Maharashtra through tariff-based competitive bidding. The transmission project guarantees annual transmission charges of approximately ₹126.5 ***** will likely monitor the margin impact of these new segment entries, as initial mobilization costs for non-road projects can temporarily pressure EBITDA margins before stabilizing during the execution phase.

Ashoka Buildcon Secures ₹602 Cr Railway Order

ASHOKA
has secured a ₹602.16 crore order from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for electro-mechanical works in four railway tunnels under Uttarakhand’s Rishikesh-Karnprayag new rail line project. The project is expected to be completed within 30 months and strengthens Ashoka Buildcon’s presence in the railway infrastructure segment. The order also provides incremental visibility to its already strong order book. As of June 2026, the company’s order book stood at ₹15,251 crore, offering a healthy revenue pipeline. However, near-term financial performance remained weak, with Q1 FY27 revenue declining 21% YoY to ₹1,500 crore, while net profit fell 41% YoY to ₹127 crore. The new order is positive for long-term execution visibility, although recovery in financial performance remains important.
