“Why Trade Review Is Essential for Continuous Improvement”

Trading experience alone does not guarantee improvement. A trader can repeat the same mistake for months if there is no structured review of past decisions. Reviewing trades helps identify patterns in execution, risk management, and decision-making that may not be obvious during live market conditions. After each trade, review why the position was taken, whether the setup matched the trading plan, whether risk was managed according to predefined rules, and whether emotions influenced the decision. Winning trades should also be reviewed because they can reveal which parts of the process were executed correctly. Over time, this information can help separate genuine strengths from habits that need improvement. The objective is not to criticize every losing trade, but to understand the decision-making process behind it. Learning: Every trade provides information. A proper review turns that information into learning.

A strong move should normally attract follow-through. When price repeatedly fails to continue, the original trend may be losing strength. Watch for: Failed attempts to make new highs or lows Slowing momentum Deeper pullbacks Increased rejection Learning: A trend can weaken before it actually reverses.
