Edelweiss Life Faces 6-Month IRDAI Restriction

Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd’s subsidiary Edelweiss Life Insurance Company Ltd (ELI) has received an IRDAI warning for non-compliance with the IRDAI Expenses of Management, including commission of Insurers Regulations, 2024, relating to FY25 ended March 31, 2025. The order, issued on August 20, 2026, restricts ELI from opening any new place of business for 6 months, although Edelweiss Financial Services stated that the action is not expected to have a material impact on ELI’s financials, operations or other subsidiaries. Separately, Edelweiss Financial Services had launched a secured redeemable NCD issue in June with a ₹150 crore base size and a ₹150 crore green shoe option, taking the total issue size to ₹300 crore. The issue opened on June 8 and was scheduled to close on June 19, with 10 NCD series offering 24, 36, 60 and 120-month tenures, annual, monthly and cumulative interest options, and effective annual yields ranging from 8.64% to 10%. Each NCD carries a face value of ₹1,000, with at least 75% of the proceeds earmarked for repayment or prepayment of existing borrowings and up to 25% for general corporate purposes. The instruments carry a CRISIL A+/Stable rating and are proposed to be listed on BSE, providing investors with a secondary-market liquidity option.

Technical Analysis Edelweiss Financial Services

The stock

EDELWEISS
is showing a bullish recovery structure on the daily chart. After finding support near ₹100–105 the stock has formed higher highs and higher lows. The recent move from around ₹115 to ₹129 indicates strong buying momentum and price is now approaching an important resistance zone. Support & Resistance: Immediate support is around ₹124–122 followed by stronger support near ₹118–116. On the upside ₹130–132 is the key resistance zone. A strong daily close above ₹132 with good volume can open the way towards ₹136–140 while ₹144 could act as the next major resistance. Short-Term Outlook: The setup remains bullish above ₹122. Fresh buyers can consider a sustained breakout above ₹132 with volume or wait for a pullback towards ₹122–124 with a bullish reversal. Existing holders can continue holding with a trailing stop-loss around ₹118. A decisive close below ₹118 would weaken the bullish structure and may lead to a correction towards ₹112–108.
