India Pharma Market Grows 12.1% in July, Led by Zydus Lifesciences and Sun Pharma

SUNPHARMA
India’s pharmaceutical market grew 12.1% year-on-year in July 2026, marking a strong recovery after subdued growth. According to Analyst latest note, the market has maintained double-digit growth, supported by price increases, new product launches and improving volumes. Sales growth in July was driven by a 6% increase in prices. The recovery was supported by a favourable low volume base, higher contributions from new launches such as GLP-1 drugs, and stronger demand across chronic therapies, including cardiac and neurological treatments, as well as VMNs and oncology. Zydus Lifesciences and Sun Pharma recorded the strongest year-on-year growth in July in value terms. On a moving annual total basis, Torrent Pharma led growth at 14.4%, followed by Glenmark and Zydus Lifesciences at 14.2% each. Among major therapy segments, anti-diabetes recorded the fastest growth in July, followed by vitamins, minerals and nutrients (VMNs). Anti-diabetes growth was largely driven by new product launches, with GLP-1 therapies accounting for around 48% of the segment’s growth. VMN growth, meanwhile, was primarily price-led. Cardiac, respiratory, pain, neurology and gynaecology therapies also posted double-digit growth. In contrast, gastro, anti-infectives and dermatology witnessed muted single-digit growth, mainly due to weak volume growth, according to Pharmarack data. At the company level, IPCA Laboratories benefited from strong double-digit growth in pain and cardiology, although weakness in anti-malaria and anti-infective products weighed on overall performance. Growth was relatively subdued for Mankind Pharma, Emcure.

Indian Market Insights – 10 August 2026

Indian equity markets are expected to remain in a consolidation phase with a neutral bias on the daily charts, while healthy sector rotation continues to support the broader market structure. The overall trend remains constructive, and a buy-on-dips approach can be considered as long as key support levels are protected. On the technical front, Nifty has strong intraday support in the 24,400–24,420 zone. Holding this area can keep the index positive and support a move towards 24,700–24,750, which remains the key resistance zone. A sustained breakout above this range could improve momentum further. Bank Nifty has also remained range-bound over the past few sessions and is likely to continue consolidating in today’s trade. Key support is placed around 57,100–57,250, while immediate resistance is seen at 58,200–58,250, followed by 58,500. From the derivatives perspective, FIIs created fresh short positions during Friday’s session, so today’s closing price action will be important. Traders should closely monitor whether these shorts continue to build or start getting covered, as this could influence the next directional move. Key Cues for Today Positive: Strong U.S. jobs data could support global risk sentiment. Negative: Rising crude oil prices remain a concern, particularly for oil-importing economies like India, as higher crude can impact inflation and corporate margins. Stocks to Watch

TITAN
, Oil India, Signature Global, Emcure Pharma, RITES, Anaview Wire, Anant Raj, Nitin Spinners, Akums Drugs and Ambika Cotton will remain in focus today. Overall Strategy: Keep a positive bias above key supports, prefer buying on dips, and avoid aggressive positions while Nifty and Bank Nifty remain within their current ranges.
