Strengths Established auto-component manufacturer: Federal-Mogul Goetze India operates as a single-segment automotive business, manufacturing and selling auto components. Established product and manufacturing capabilities: The company has a long operating history and established manufacturing infrastructure in automotive components. Weaknesses High dependence on automotive industry: The company reports its business predominantly under a single automotive segment, limiting diversification across industries. Opportunities Growth in India's automobile industry: Increasing vehicle production and replacement demand can support long-term demand for automotive components. Premiumisation and technology: Increasing demand for technologically advanced and higher-performance automotive components provides opportunities for specialised products. EV and new mobility transition: The evolution of vehicle powertrains creates opportunities to develop components suited to changing automotive technologies. Export opportunities: International automotive markets can provide additional growth and diversification. Better operating efficiency: Continued improvement in production planning, inventory management and product mix can support margins. Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) Ltd – Company Analysis

FMGOETZE
Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) Ltd is an established automotive component manufacturer and part of the global Tenneco Group. The company manufactures pistons, piston rings, engine bearings and other engine-related components supplied to passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers and industrial applications. Its long-standing relationships with major automobile manufacturers, technical capabilities and association with Tenneco provide meaningful entry barriers. FY26 performance was relatively stable, with consolidated revenue from operations at approximately ₹1,955 crore, compared with ₹1,800 crore in FY25. Profitability also remained healthy, although growth was moderate. Q4 FY26 revenue was ₹488.6 crore, down 1.4% sequentially but up 6.5% year-on-year, while operating profit stood at ₹58.3 crore and net profit at ₹49.1 crore. The latest Q1 FY27 quarter showed revenue growth of 8.8% year-on-year to ₹526.3 crore, but operating profit declined 4.4% and net profit was almost flat at ₹45.3 crore. This indicates that topline growth is currently not translating into equivalent earnings growth. Looking ahead, the company's biggest challenge is technological transition. Increasing EV penetration could gradually reduce demand for conventional engine components, making product diversification and exposure to hybrid, commercial and non-engine applications important. On the positive side, the company has strong technological capabilities, an established customer base and global Tenneco backing. Investors should closely monitor margin trends, EV-related product development, OEM volumes and capital allocation. Overall, Federal-Mogul Goetze is a financially established auto-component company with decent earnings visibility, but it is not a high-growth story at present. The key investment question is whether management can offset the long-term decline in internal-combustion-engine components through new products and applications while maintaining margins.
