GEOPOLITICAL UPDATE-----> Positive Trigger for Global Markets? Trump Says US & Israel Are Ready to Pause Iran Attack if a Deal Is Finalized.

Geopolitical tensions may finally be showing signs of easing. US President Donald Trump said that the "perimeters of a deal" with Iran have been agreed upon and that the US and Israel are prepared to cancel a planned attack, provided a final agreement is reached quickly. The proposed framework reportedly includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and addressing concerns over Iran's nuclear programme. For global markets, this could be one of the biggest developments in weeks. ##Why Is This Important? The Middle East is the heart of the global energy market. Any military escalation in the region usually leads to: • Higher crude oil prices • Increased inflation concerns • Risk-off sentiment in global equities ------>The Biggest Winner Could Be... Crude Oil One of the key points under discussion is the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's busiest oil shipping routes. ##Which Indian Stocks Could Benefit?

##Market View For the last several weeks, crude oil has been one of the biggest concerns for Indian equities. If geopolitical tensions genuinely begin to ease, markets could shift their focus back toward: • Corporate earnings • Economic growth • Institutional flows instead of geopolitical risk. ------>Bottom Line Sometimes, the biggest market rally begins with a geopolitical breakthrough. Trump's statement has raised hopes that diplomacy could replace conflict. If negotiations lead to a formal agreement and tensions continue to decline, lower crude oil prices could become a powerful tailwind for Indian markets, especially for aviation, automobiles, paints and other oil-sensitive sectors.

BPCL

Shares of crude-sensitive companies came under pressure in early trade on Wednesday after global crude oil prices surged amid renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Oil marketing companies (OMCs), airlines, tyre manufacturers and paint stocks witnessed broad-based selling as investors assessed the impact of rising fuel and input costs. Among OMCs, BPCL fell more than 4 percent, while HPCL also declined around 4 percent. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) slipped over 3 percent. In the aviation space, InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), a Nifty 50 constituent, dropped more than 2 percent. The weakness extended to other crude-linked sectors. Apollo Tyres lost nearly 2 percent, while CEAT, JK Tyre & Industries, and SpiceJet declined between 1 and 2 percent. In the paint segment, Asian Paints fell about 1.5 percent, Kansai Nerolac Paints traded lower, while Berger Paints was largely unchanged in early trade. The sell-off followed a sharp rise in global crude prices after the United States launched airstrikes against Iran in response to attacks on commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, fuelling concerns over potential disruptions to global energy supplies. Brent crude rose nearly 2 percent to around $75.5 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude climbed to about $71.8 per barrel, extending gains from the previous session.

Berger Paints Soars 9% — What Strong Q4 Results Mean for the Entire Paint Sector

Berger Paints surged 9.27% to hit a three-month high of ₹533.35 on Wednesday after reporting strong Q4 FY26 results. Asian Paints, Kansai Nerolac and other paint stocks also gained up to 5% on the back of Berger's strong numbers. Net profit → ₹335.25 crore (up 27.52% YoY from ₹262.91 crore) Revenue → ₹2,868.03 crore (up from ₹2,704.03 crore last year) Volume growth → 11.8% for the quarter Key driver → Lower raw material costs and improved product mix This is called the rub-off effect when one company in a sector reports strong results, investors assume the entire sector is doing well and buy other stocks in the same space. Since Berger, Asian Paints and Kansai Nerolac all operate in the same paint industry, strong demand for Berger signals healthy demand across the sector. Lower raw material costs → Key inputs like crude derivatives became cheaper, directly boosting margins. Premium product mix → Strong double-digit volume growth in premium emulsions and decorative segments drove both revenue and profits higher. Price hikes ahead → The company plans 10-12% price hikes in FY27 which analysts expect will further boost revenues. Analyst firm Asit C. Mehta retained a Buy rating with a target price of ₹610. Track raw material cost trends and volume growth in Q1 FY27 to see if this momentum continues.

Berger Paints' 27% profit jump and the subsequent rise in Asian Paints and Kansai Nerolac stocks teaches investors that strong quarterly results from a sector leader can trigger a rub-off rally across the entire industry, and that tracking raw material cost trends and volume growth together gives a clearer picture of a paint company's profitability before making an investment decision.
