NLC India Limited is an India-based company engaged in lignite and coal mining and power generation utilising lignite and renewable energy sources. The Company's segments include mining and power generation. The Mining segment is engaged in the mining of lignite. The Power Generation Business segment is engaged in the generation and sale of electricity to electric power companies nationwide. Its main products include lignite mining, coal mining, thermal power generation, renewable energy generation such as solar and wind power generation, and power trading. There are about four open pit lignite mines, including Mine I, Mine II, Mine IA, Basinsar Mine, and one open pit coal mine, Talabira II and III. There are approximately 5 coal-fired power plants with a total capacity of approximately 3640 megawatts (MW). The Company's subsidiaries include NLC Tamilnadu Power Limited and Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited.
