Parag Milk Foods: Scaling Up Dairy and Nutrition

PARAGMILK
is targeting revenue of around ₹10,000 crore over the next 3–4 years, supported by capacity expansion across paneer, cheese and whey protein. The company is also increasing its focus on higher-value dairy and nutrition products, with Pride of Cows and Avvatar emerging as key growth drivers. In Q1 FY27, revenue increased 11% YoY to ₹945 crore, while net profit declined around 20% to ₹22 crore. Overall volume growth stood at 3%, with the flagship portfolio of ghee, cheese, paneer and dahi contributing 61% of revenue. Within this portfolio, value growth was 10% despite a 2% decline in volumes. The New Age Business, comprising Pride of Cows and Avvatar, grew 59% YoY to ₹118 crore and increased its contribution to around 13% of revenue. Avvatar is expanding beyond whey protein into protein bars, ready-to-drink products, creatine and other functional nutrition categories. A key growth initiative is the planned doubling of cheese capacity from 60 MTPD to 120 MTPD over the next 1.5 years. Higher cheese production should also increase whey availability, allowing Parag to scale its health and nutrition portfolio. The key monitorables are volum

UP Dairy Sector: ₹695 Crore Investment Bigger Opportunity

Imagine a farmer in Uttar Pradesh selling milk every morning. For years, the journey was simple—farm to local market. But now, that same milk can travel through organised collection networks, processing plants, cold chains and branded dairy products. A recent report says **22 companies have proposed investments worth ₹695.18 crore in Uttar Pradesh’s dairy sector**. The proposals were announced during the UP International Trade Show and indicate increasing private-sector interest in dairy processing and related infrastructure. The bigger story is not just ₹695 crore. It is about **formalisation, value-added dairy products and stronger supply chains**. As organised dairy expands, companies involved in milk procurement, processing, paneer, curd, cheese, ghee and other value-added products could become important businesses to study. 📌 **Nifty 500 Dairy Stocks to Study:** • **Hatsun Agro Product Ltd.** • **Dodla Dairy Ltd.** • **Heritage Foods Ltd.** • **

.** • **Vadilal Industries Ltd.** These companies have different regional footprints, product mixes and financial profiles, so investors should evaluate procurement costs, margins, debt, capacity expansion and valuation rather than simply following the sector theme. **The learning:** When an industry attracts fresh investment, don't immediately ask, “Which stock will rise?” First ask, “Which businesses can capture the economic value created by this investment cycle?” **Dairy investments can strengthen processing and supply chains, but investors should evaluate profitability, valuation, execution and procurement costs before investing.** **Educational Disclaimer:** This post is for educational purposes only and is not a recommendation, stock tip, buy/sell call, or investment advice. Parag Milk Foods plans ₹100 crore paneer expansion

Parag Milk Foods Limited plans to invest approximately ₹100 crore to expand its paneer capacity from 20 MT/day to 80 MT/day by June 2027. The company will add 60 MT/day across its Manchar and Palamaner facilities, with funding planned through internal accruals, borrowings or lease. Paneer is already one of Parag Milk Foods' key value-added categories, with the company reporting 28% growth in the category over the last two years. More than 90% of its turnover comes from value-added products. The new capacity will cover regular as well as high-protein paneer and will target General Trade, Modern Trade, Quick Commerce, e-commerce and HoReCa channels. My view is that the ₹100 crore investment matters more for future volume growth than for near-term earnings. Existing paneer capacity is already close to full utilisation, so the expansion addresses a current capacity constraint rather than adding capacity without visible demand. The key question is whether Parag can convert the additional 60 MT/day into profitable sales without margin pressure from milk procurement costs and higher distribution expenses. I will watch execution through June 2027, capacity utilisation and paneer margins. For the stock, ₹300 is the key level to watch. Sustained trading above this zone would indicate stronger market acceptance of the expansion, while failure to hold ₹250 would weaken the near-term setup. Stance: Positive on the capacity expansion, but I would track execution and margins before taking a stronger view.

Parag Milk Foods to invest ₹100 cr to expand

Parag Milk Foods to invest ₹100 cr to expand paneer production capacity

PARAGMILK
SEBI RA – Shubh Consultancy – Sunil Kotak – INH000015826 Parag Milk Foods on Tuesday said the company plans to invest around ₹100 crore to expand its paneer (cottage cheese) manufacturing capacity by adding a 60 MT per day capacity expansion at its Manchar facility in Maharashtra and the Palamaner unit in Andhra Pradesh. Currently, the company manufactures 20 MT per day of paneer at its facilities, Parag Milk Foods said in a statement. "This scale-up will allow us to expand our pan-India distribution and make our paneer available across distribution channels. We see a significant opportunity to strengthen our position in value-added dairy through innovation, scale and wider consumer access," Parag Milk Foods COO Rahul Kumar Srivastava said. The statement said that value-added products contribute more than 90 per cent of the company's turnover and paneer is one of its flagship categories, growing by 28 per cent per annum over the last two years. As demand shifts from unorganised to organised players, which account for just 5-6 per cent of the category, Parag is quadrupling capacity to meet rising demand for consistent quality and expand its national footprint across standard and high-protein ranges. The expanded facilities will produce both regular and high-protein paneer and are expected to be commissioned by June 2027. "We are pleased to announce our plan to add 60 MT/day of capacity, taking our overall paneer capacity from 20 MT/day to 80 MT/day with an investment of approximately ₹100 crore All this is for information This is not a buy/sell recommendation. Thank you, Technofunda24

WHEN A DAIRY PRODUCT BECOMES A FINANCIAL ASSET

A wheel of Parmesan can become collateral for a bank loan in Italy. The story is interesting because it shows a simple business truth: inventory can create a working-capital problem when cash is locked inside a product. Now bring that idea to India. Indian dairy companies face their own challenge. During summer, milk availability can tighten, production can fall and procurement costs can rise. This is where Parag Milk Foods

PARAGMILK
becomes an interesting company to study. The company operates in a business where milk is not just a raw material—it is the foundation of the entire value chain. Think of the chain: Milk → Processing → Value-added products → Distribution → Consumer When milk prices rise, margins can come under pressure. But when a company has a broader portfolio of value-added dairy products, the economics become more than simply buying and selling milk. The Parmesan story also teaches another lesson: working capital matters. A dairy business continuously manages raw-material procurement, inventory, processing capacity, distribution and cash conversion. So when studying a dairy company, don't look only at revenue growth. Look at: Milk procurement costs + gross margins + inventory + working capital + product mix + cash flow. The real question is not simply, “How much milk is being sold?” It is: “How efficiently is milk being converted into higher-value products and ultimately into cash?” That is the financial lesson hidden inside a wheel of cheese. A strong business converts inventory efficiently; investors should study margins, working capital, product mix, cash flow and input-cost movements together.

INSIGHT--> LARGE CAP VS MIDCAP VS SMALLCAP, THE WINNER IS..?

Small Caps Beat Large Caps by a Mile… But There’s a Catch! Everyone talks about how Mid & Small Caps have outperformed Large Caps. But the latest earnings analysis reveals a much more interesting story. The headline numbers look spectacular: Since FY17: • Large Cap PAT CAGR: 14.0% • Mid Cap PAT CAGR: 21.2% • Small Cap PAT CAGR: 36.8% At first glance, it looks like Small Caps are the clear winner. But then comes the Outlier Effect. ##Remove the Best & Worst 2% — The Story Changes After removing the extreme profit performers from each category: • Large Cap PAT CAGR falls from 14.0% → 13.5% • Mid Cap falls from 21.2% → 17.1% • Small Cap falls sharply from 36.8% → 24.8% That's a BIG difference. So what's really driving Small Cap earnings? A meaningful part of their long-term outperformance comes from a relatively small number of extreme winners and losers. ------>he Bigger Surprise: Margins The earnings growth story isn't entirely about companies growing faster. A major reason is margin recovery. Since FY17: Mid Cap PAT Margin: 6.0% → 12.8% Small Cap PAT Margin: 1.3% → 8.4% Large Cap PAT Margin: 11.9% → 12.4% In simple words: Mid & Small Caps started from a much weaker profitability base. ##Large Caps Have One Major Advantage Large caps have delivered their earnings growth with far less volatility. TTM June 2026 PAT: Large Caps: ₹14.7 lakh crore Mid Caps: ₹3.8 lakh crore Small Caps: ₹1.6 lakh crore ------>Bottom Line Small Caps delivered spectacular long-term earnings growth — but the numbers become less spectacular when you remove the outliers.
