PRIME FOCUS –GOOD OPPORTUNITY AHEAD OF RAMAYANA RELEASE

Prime Focus looks interesting from a short-term trading perspective, with the upcoming release of *Ramayana* likely to keep the stock in focus. The project has generated significant attention due to its scale and association with the company, creating scope for renewed investor interest ahead of the release. From a technical perspective, a recovery from key support levels, backed by improving volumes and positive price action, could open the possibility of a 15% upside bounce in the short term. Traders should watch for confirmation of a bullish reversal before considering fresh positions. However, the stock may remain volatile, and the expected upside is not guaranteed. Recent company-specific developments also warrant caution. A disciplined approach with a predefined stop-loss is essential. Overall View: Prime Focus is worth tracking for a potential short-term recovery, with *Ramayana* acting as a possible sentiment catalyst. Price action, volume confirmation and risk management should guide any trading decision. *Disclaimer: This is a technical and event-driven market view, not a guaranteed-return forecast. Investment in securities is subject to market risks.*

Prime Focus Raided Ahead of Ramayana Release

PFOCUS
Prime Focus Ltd is under the spotlight after the Income Tax Department raided its Mumbai offices on October 7, 2026, over alleged foreign remittances, just weeks before the release of its mega film Ramayana. The company’s shares fell nearly 8–10% intraday but management confirmed operations remain unaffected. 📌 Latest Developments 1. Income Tax Raid Date: October 7, 2026 Location: Prime Focus Ltd offices, Mumbai Reason: Linked to foreign remittance transactions (details not disclosed). Impact: Shares dropped ~8–10% intraday; market cap fell to ₹22,198 crore. Company Statement: Fully cooperating with authorities; no communication received on alleged contraventions. Operations continue as usual. 2. Ramayana Connection Prime Focus is closely associated with Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Release Date: November 5, 2026 (Diwali week). Cast: Ranbir Kapoor (Ram), Sai Pallavi (Sita), Yash (Ravan), Sunny Deol (Hanuman). Budget: Reported at ₹4,000 crore, making it one of India’s most expensive films. 3. Strategic Context Prime Focus earns 92% of revenue from overseas markets, mainly through its global VFX arm DNEG. Recently backed Brahma AI, which raised $150M at a $2B valuation, strengthening its tech footprint. ⚠️ Risks & Outlook Regulatory Risk: Ongoing IT probe could affect investor sentiment. Market Volatility: Stock price already reacted sharply; further swings possible. Operational Continuity: Management insists business is unaffected, but scrutiny may delay financial clarity. Growth Drivers: Ramayana release and Brahma AI expansion remain key catalysts.

PVR INOX: Can cinema recovery become an earnings story?

PVR INOX Limited

PVRINOX
jumped around 9% today after CLSA retained its **Outperform** rating and raised attention on the company's recovery potential. The brokerage has a ₹2,135 target, implying substantial upside from the prevailing market price. I would not focus only on the target price. The interesting part of the thesis is **operating leverage**. CLSA's positive view is based on three factors: 1. Improving cinema attendance 2. Higher customer spending 3. Potential margin expansion as volumes recover The third point could be the most important. Cinema businesses have a large fixed-cost component. Once occupancy improves, incremental revenue can flow disproportionately into operating profit. But there is a catch The industry remains dependent on movie content. A strong quarter does not automatically establish a long-term trend. The sustainability of attendance and spending per customer matters more than one successful movie cycle. PVR INOX therefore needs to demonstrate that customers are returning more consistently and that food-and-beverage and ticket economics are improving alongside footfalls. Price vs fundamentals The stock was around ₹1,344 today, while the CLSA target stands at ₹2,135. That gap looks attractive on paper, but analyst targets are assumptions, not guarantees. What I want to see next Occupancy | admissions | average ticket price | F&B spend per head | EBITDA margin My stance: Bullish on the improving operating setup, but after a sharp one-day rally I would wait for consolidation rather than chase momentum. Investor note: This post is based on publicly available information and represents a research/educational view. I do not hold PVR INOX. Please assess suitability and risk independently. No assurance of returns is intended.

Prime Focus faces a tax search, but facts are limited.

PFOCUS
Prime Focus Limited (PFOCUS) fell nearly 10% intraday after the Income Tax Department began searches at certain company offices on October 7. The stock later closed at ₹285.05, down 2.78% from the previous close of ₹293.20. The important point is what we do not know yet. Prime Focus has said it has not received any communication from the Income Tax Department setting out a finding, demand or alleged contravention. The company also said its operations have not been affected and that it is cooperating with the authorities. My view is that the stock reaction is understandable, but I would not assign a financial impact before there is an official finding. A tax search is an event that can create uncertainty. It is not, by itself, proof of a tax violation or financial loss. There is another reason to be careful. Around 92% of Prime Focus' revenue comes from international markets, so foreign transactions are an important part of its business. That makes the eventual findings more relevant to investors than the search itself. The next trigger is any communication from the Income Tax Department or a subsequent exchange filing by Prime Focus. My stance: I would stay cautious until the facts become clearer. A confirmed tax demand or adverse finding would change my view. No material finding would reduce the current uncertainty.

Prime Focus Ltd. Regulatory Update & Market ImpactDate

PFOCUS
Executive Summary Shares of Prime Focus Ltd. experienced a decline of approximately 8% during early trading on Wednesday, following reports of ongoing search operations by the Income Tax (IT) Department at the company’s Mumbai headquarters and the premises of certain affiliated individuals. Details of the Regulatory Action According to preliminary reports, the IT Department's scrutiny is centered on foreign remittances. While specific transactional details remain undisclosed, this development is notable given the company’s substantial international footprint; Prime Focus derives approximately 92% of its consolidated revenue from overseas markets through its visual effects, animation, and post-production businesses. Prior Corporate Developments (Resolved) To accurately assess the company's risk profile, investors should note that Prime Focus successfully navigated two major regulatory and legal hurdles earlier this year. There is currently no indication that today's tax scrutiny is related to these historical matters: SEBI Adjudication (June 2026): The Securities and Exchange Board of India closed proceedings against the company and its directors, ruling that its accounting treatments and financial disclosures did not constitute irregularities or misleading statements. Insolvency Proceedings (July 2026): The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) overturned an earlier NCLT admission order regarding a ₹353.79 crore claim by Reliance Alpha Services. A settlement was approved, officially closing the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP). Market Performance The stock traded 8.1% lower in the morning session, reversing gains made earlier in the week. Despite this immediate intraday volatility, Prime Focus shares maintain a year-to-date gain of approximately 17%.
