Reliance Power Limited, together with its subsidiaries, is primarily engaged in the business of generation of power. The projects include coal, gas, hydro, wind and solar-based energy projects. The portfolio of the Reliance Power Group also includes Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPPs). It is in the business of setting up and operating power projects and the development of coal mines associated with such projects. It is engaged in only one segment: Generation of Power. Its projects are Sasan - Coal Based Power Project, Rosa - Coal Based Power Project, Solar Power CSP, Solar Power PV and Wind Power. Its power projects include Coal based Projects and Solar Power Projects. It has built a portfolio of power projects and coal mines. It has close to 6000 megawatts (MW) of operational power generation assets. Its project portfolio also includes 3,960 MW Sasan UMPPs (Madhya Pradesh). UMPPs are a part of the Indian government's initiative to collaborate with power generation.
