Tejas Networks: a Rs 1,537 crore TCS letter of intent

TEJASNET
Tejas Networks (NSE: TEJASNET) is a Tata Group company making wireline and wireless networking products for telecom operators, utilities, governments, and defence networks in 75+ countries. Its products include 5G Massive MIMO radios and a converged 4G/5G core. What happened: FY26 consolidated revenue fell 87.6% to Rs 1,103.3 crore after BSNL 4G supplies completed. Net profit swung to a loss of Rs 908.9 crore from a profit of Rs 446.5 crore in FY25. Net debt stood at Rs 3,531 crore. In Q2 FY27, Tejas received a Rs 1,537 crore letter of intent from TCS for 18,685 BSNL 4G sites; the detailed purchase order was awaited. Tejas also shipped 5G radios to Europe through its NEC partnership, secured its first end-to-end 5G network order in South America (radio, baseband, and core), and its Rakuten Symphony partnership supports Open RAN expansion. On October 8, it demonstrated 6G sensing with Qualcomm -- a technology demo, not a commercial order. Why it matters: The FY26 loss was a project-completion hangover, not structural deterioration. The TCS LOI, if converted, restarts the BSNL revenue cycle; the South America order is the first proof of end-to-end wins outside India. What I am watching: Whether the TCS LOI converts to a purchase order, Q2 FY27 revenue for signs of recovery, and whether net debt stabilises. My stance: Tejas is a genuine 5G equipment maker with international wins, but the FY26 financials are severe: 87.6% revenue decline, Rs 909 crore loss, Rs 3,531 crore net debt. The recovery thesis depends entirely on new order flow converting to revenue. The risk is that execution delays extend the losses. I do not hold a position in Tejas Networks at the time of writing. This is not investment advice.

Symphony Ltd – Company Fundamental Analysis

SYMPHONY
Symphony is a leading air-cooler and climate-appliance company with a strong position in residential, commercial and industrial air cooling. The company has an asset-light manufacturing model and a significant international presence through subsidiaries and brands such as Bonaire and Impco. Its biggest strength remains its established brand, wide distribution network and relatively differentiated positioning in a fragmented cooling market. However, the business is inherently seasonal and demand is highly dependent on summer temperatures and consumer spending. FY26 was a difficult year, with consolidated revenue falling to about ₹447 crore from ₹511 crore in FY25. The company also recognised substantial impairment charges related to its Australian operations, which materially affected reported profitability. Q1 FY27 showed a meaningful operational recovery: consolidated revenue from operations rose 8% YoY to ₹378 crore, EBITDA increased 26% to ₹48 crore, while PAT was ₹40 crore versus ₹42 crore a year earlier. Domestic revenue was particularly strong, rising nearly 15% to ₹231 crore, although international revenue remained broadly flat. The investment case rests on Symphony's brand strength, premium positioning, international recovery and potential operating leverage when domestic demand is strong. The company also declared a ₹1 interim dividend for FY27, reflecting its shareholder-return focus. The major risks are seasonality, weather dependence, competition from brands such as Bajaj and Voltas, international subsidiary performance and the possibility of margin pressure if input costs rise. Overall, Symphony looks like a quality niche consumer-durable business undergoing an earnings recovery, but investors should watch whether the FY27 revenue improvement translates into sustained PAT and margin growth; the previous year's impairment also highlights the risks associated with its overseas operations.

The Next Rural Story Isn't Agriculture

Rural India is changing. The biggest opportunity may not be better crop yields, but rising aspirations. As incomes improve, spending is shifting from essentials to discretionary products like two-wheelers, branded apparel, smartphones and home appliances. This creates a long runway for companies with deep rural distribution. Companies like

BAJAJ-AUTO
,
TVSMOTOR
,
WHIRLPOOL
,
SYMPHONY
,
TITAN
and
DIXON
could quietly benefit as rural consumption moves beyond necessity.

Symphony Ltd Latest updates

SYMPHONY
Q4 FY26 Financial Metrics: For the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026, Symphony Limited reported a consolidated revenue from operations of ₹338 crore, down 30.74% year-on-year from ₹488 crore in Q4 FY25. The company posted a consolidated net loss of ₹218 crore for the quarter, compared to a profit of ₹79 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, primarily due to an massive one-time accounting impairment charge. EBITDA Margins & Operational Leverage: On a consolidated basis, the quarterly gross margin percentage remained fully intact at 46.4%, showing baseline pricing resilience. However, EBITDA margins for the fourth quarter dropped to 15.5% from 21.2% in Q4 FY25, heavily impacted by negative operating leverage, low off-season volumes, and higher fixed overhead costs. Major International Asset Impairment & Exit: The quarterly and annual bottom-line contraction was heavily impacted by a non-cash, one-time exceptional impairment charge of ₹259 crore related to its Australian subsidiary (Bonaire USA LLC and associated IPRs). Management announced a complete halt to further capital investments or allocations to the underperforming Australian business following regulatory shifts and pandemic-driven operational bottlenecks. Strategic De-risking & Revenue Diversification: Despite a tough domestic year stemming from an inventory overhang and a poor summer season in 2025, non-seasonal products and geographic diversification insulated the brand. Products independent of the regular Indian summer accounted for ₹558 crore, capturing roughly 49% of the total consolidated revenue mix for FY26.
