When Big Names Fall: 10 Tata Stocks Slump Up to 60% from Their Highs

Several Tata Group companies, once market favorites, have seen sharp declines of 30–60% from their 52-week highs, as investors rotate out of high-valuation stocks amid global and domestic headwinds. Top decliners include: *

TEJASNET
(-59%) *
TRENT
(-44%) *
NELCO
(-42%) *
ORIENTHOT
(-36%) *
TTML
(-35%) *
TATATECH
(-34%) *
TRF
(-34%) *
TCS
(-33%) *
TATAELXSI
(-32%) *
ASAL
(-31%) Reasons for the fall: * Valuation correction – Many stocks were trading at expensive multiples; sentiment cooling led to profit booking. * Sector headwinds – Tech and telecom are seeing weaker global demand, while hospitality and auto face cost pressures. * Earnings disappointments – Several Tata firms missed quarterly expectations or faced margin pressures. * Spillover effect – Weakness in larger group firms like TCS has impacted sentiment across Tata stocks. * Market rotation – Investors shifting to defensive and value plays, leading to exits from growth-heavy counters. What should investors do? Experts suggest focusing on fundamentals rather than reacting to short-term declines. Some Tata Group companies—especially in engineering, auto, and tech—could see recoveries if margins and order flows improve. Despite the correction, the Tata Group’s diversified presence across sectors and strong governance framework continue to inspire long-term investor confidence. TRF Faces Revenue Pressure but Margins Hold Steady

TRF
TRF Limited, part of the Tata Group, operates in the bulk material handling and engineering space, offering design, fabrication, and life cycle services to clients like Tata Steel, NTPC, and SAIL. In Q1 FY26, the company’s revenue declined 35% YoY to ₹27.2 crore, while profit moderated to ₹3.5 crore, reflecting pressure on business momentum. Margins, however, stayed steady at 12.9%. TRF’s strength lies in its long-standing industry presence, turnkey project expertise, and recurring income from maintenance and service contracts. Yet, weak order inflows and rising costs remain challenges. Future performance depends on project wins, execution efficiency, and growth in infrastructure and steel sectors, which could revive demand for its solutions.
