Ashok Leyland experienced positive sales growth in May 2025, with total vehicle sales increasing by 5% to 15,484 units, and domestic sales also rising by 5%. This growth was predominantly driven by a strong 11% surge in the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment, though Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales saw a slight decline. The company also secured a significant order from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) to supply 543 BSVI diesel chassis and fully-built buses, valued at approximately ₹183.80 crore, slated for delivery between June and December 2025, which will further bolster its sales.
Further solidifying its commitment to the electric vehicle sector, Ashok Leyland's UK subsidiary, Optare Plc, recently increased its stake in Switch Mobility Limited, UK, bringing its holding to nearly 100%. This strategic move underscores the company's focus on sustainable mobility solutions. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Ashok Leyland unveiled new products like the 'SAATHI' LCV with innovative LNT technology, the GARUD 15 intercity sleeper bus, and the eTIRAN electric port-terminal tractor, demonstrating its ongoing product development and diversification across various commercial vehicle segments.#StockInNews#WatchOutFor#FundamentalViews#EquityResearch#PersonalFinance
