BASF India Latest Update

BASF
Financial Performance: BASF India experienced a significant profit decline in Q4 FY25, reporting ₹27.01 crore net profit, an 83.3% drop year-on-year. This was primarily due to challenging market conditions, increased input costs, and lower price realization, despite some revenue growth for the full fiscal year. For the full FY25, sales reached ₹15,260 crore, but profit before tax (before exceptional items) decreased to ₹61.67 crore from ₹75.88 crore in FY24. The company's Board has recommended a dividend of ₹20 per share for the financial year ended March 31, 2025. Strategic Expansion and Acquisitions: In a strategic move, BASF India's board approved the acquisition of 100% of BASF Agricultural Solutions India from its German parent, BASF SE, aiming to integrate the agricultural business as a wholly-owned subsidiary by mid-May 2025. Furthermore, to cater to India's booming automotive sector, BASF India has initiated the construction of a new Cellasto® microcellular polyurethane plant in Dahej, Gujarat, set to be operational by the second half of 2026, reinforcing its "Producing in India for India" strategy. Partnerships and Sustainability Initiatives: BASF India is actively pursuing sustainability and collaboration, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AM Green B.V. to explore opportunities in low-carbon chemicals produced using renewable energy in India, including the potential offtake of green ammonia. Additionally, the company launched the 'Women in Refinish' CSR program in March 2025, in partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra and NGOs, to empower underprivileged women with skills in the refinish coatings profession.
