Financial Performance & Strategic Restructuring: Bharat Forge's Q1 FY26 (March 2025 quarter, as per latest available data) showed a net profit of ₹282.62 crore, an increase of 32.82% quarter-on-quarter, with revenue also growing by 11.41%. This positive trend follows a Q4 FY25 where profit declined. The company recently completed a major internal restructuring on June 30, 2025, transferring its defence business assets and obligations to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), for ₹500 crore in Optionally Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares. Simultaneously, it approved an upward revision to the acquisition price of AAM India Manufacturing Corporation Private Limited to a maximum of ₹770 crore, aiming to strengthen its automotive components presence. Dominance in Defence Sector: The defence sector continues to be a significant growth area for Bharat Forge. KSSL recently secured a substantial ₹2,000 crore contract from the Indian Army for indigenously designed 5.56x45mm Close Quarter Battle (CQB) carbines, a major boost for "Make in India" initiatives. This adds to a robust defence order book, which stood at ₹9,420 crore as of March 2025, with expectations for further growth in domestic defence deals in FY26. International Collaborations & Innovation: Bharat Forge is actively expanding its global defence presence. At IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi (February 2025), KSSL signed a landmark Letter of Intent with AM General, USA, for the supply of advanced artillery cannons, marking the first-ever export of Indian artillery to the US. The company also unveiled the MArG 45, a mobile gun system, at the same event, showcasing its commitment to advanced defence technology. Furthermore, Bharat Forge is heavily investing in R&D for aerospace and advanced technologies, including indigenous UAV engines, landing gear systems, and exploring AI-powered UAVs and hypersonics.
