CYIENT
Significant Share BuybackThe Board has approved a ₹720 crore share buyback via a tender offer. The buyback price is set at ₹1,125 per share, which is a substantial premium over the current market price (trading around ₹870–₹880). The company intends to repurchase up to 64 lakh equity shares, representing approximately 5.76% of its total paid-up capital. This move is aimed at returning surplus cash to shareholders, excluding promoters. Q4 & FY26 Financial Performance The Digital, Engineering, and Technology (DET) segment—Cyient's core business—showed steady growth. For Q4 FY26, DET revenue reached ₹1,500 crore, a 7.4% YoY increase. For the full financial year 2026, DET revenue grew 5.5% to ₹5,819 crore, with a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹588 crore (up 7.2% YoY). However, on a consolidated group level, full-year PAT saw a decline of 14.3% due to various one-time expenses and strategic shifts. Semiconductor Expansion & Acquisitions Cyient has completed the $85 million acquisition of a majority stake in U.S.-based Kinetic Technologies. This is a strategic move to strengthen its "Cyient Semiconductors" arm, focusing on the global power chip market. The segment has now recorded its fourth consecutive quarter of growth. The company also announced it may explore a fundraise (debt or equity) specifically to scale this semiconductor business. Strategic Wins & Outlook The company secured a multi-year framework agreement with a leading global rail OEM during the quarter. Despite current market volatility, management noted a "healthy order book" for FY27. They have paused a major project (Project Astro) to reassess its feasibility due to rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and shifting geopolitical conditions, which resulted in some due diligence cost write-offs in the recent quarter.
