Q1 FY2026 Financials:
HDFC Bank's standalone net profit for Q1 FY2026 rose by 12.2% year-on-year to ₹18,155 crore, driven by higher "other income" and lower tax expense. Consolidated net profit, however, saw a minor decline due to a significant increase in provisions, including floating and contingent provisions. Net Interest Income (NII) increased by 5.4% YoY to ₹31,440 crore.
Bonus Share and Dividend Announcement:
The bank declared its first-ever 1:1 bonus share issue, meaning one free share for every share held. The record date for the bonus issue is August 27, 2025. Additionally, a special interim dividend of ₹5 per equity share has been announced for FY2025-26, with a record date of July 25, 2025, and payment on August 11, 2025.
Post-Merger Strategy and Performance:
Following its merger with HDFC Ltd., the bank has strategically slowed its loan growth (6.7% YoY in Q1 FY26) to manage its Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio, bringing it down from approximately 110% post-merger to around 95%. Deposit growth has been robust, increasing by 16.2% YoY, and is a key focus for balance sheet stability. Asset quality remains stable, with Gross NPAs at 1.40%. The bank expects loan growth to align with the industry in FY2026 and surpass it in FY2027.#WatchOutFor#StockInNews#FundamentalViews#EquityResearch#PersonalFinance
