INDUSTOWER
Strategic Expansion Indus Towers' board has approved a strategic plan to expand its operations into select international markets. The initial focus will be on the African continent, starting with Nigeria, Uganda, and Zambia. This move aims to diversify revenue streams and leverage the existing presence of its anchor customer, Bharti Airtel, in these regions. The company's international expansion is part of its broader growth strategy. Financial Performance For the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, Indus Towers reported a 9.1% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations to ₹8,058 crore. However, profitability faced some challenges, with EBITDA declining by 3.4% and net profit decreasing by 9.8% compared to the same period last year. The company's tower portfolio expanded to over 251,773 towers with 411,212 co-locations, showing continued growth in its core infrastructure. Technological and Business Initiatives Indus Towers is focusing on enhancing operational efficiency by integrating new technologies. The company is investing in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital solutions to support the ongoing 5G rollout in India. In addition, the company has partnered with IIT Bombay on two research initiatives to advance sustainable energy solutions, including the development of next-generation solar cells and energy storage from agricultural waste.
