Q1 FY27 Financial Turnaround & Profit Growth
On July 23, 2026, Motilal Oswal Financial Services reported its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). Consolidated total income rose 25.4% year-on-year to ₹3,432 crore (up from ₹2,737 crore in Q1 FY26). Consolidated net profit (PAT) increased 9.6% YoY to ₹1,273 crore, executing a sharp sequential turnaround from a net loss of ₹221 crore in Q4 FY26, largely driven by a strong rebound in mark-to-market treasury investment gains.
Core Operating Segments Performance
Core operating profit (excluding treasury investments) expanded 14% year-on-year to ~₹604 crore. Growth was led by the Asset Management vertical, where PAT surged 73.1% YoY to ₹244.7 crore. Housing Finance posted a 35.8% YoY profit increase to ₹32.4 crore, while Private Wealth remained steady with a PAT of ₹90.1 crore (+1.7% YoY). Conversely, Wealth Management PAT moderated 6.7% YoY to ₹161.3 crore and Capital Markets (Institutional Equities & IB) PAT declined 25% YoY to ₹75.7 crore due to softer trading turnover and deal flow.
Assets Under Management (AUM) & Annuity Shift
Total Assets Under Management (AUM) across mutual funds, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), and Alternate Investment Funds (AIF) expanded 31% year-on-year to cross ₹2.12 lakh crore. Annuity-based recurring fee revenue increased to 66% of total revenue during Q1 FY27 (up from ~60% in FY26), reflecting an operational shift toward stable fee-earning asset and wealth management models.
Treasury Portfolio Dynamics
Under MOFSL’s twin-engine model, the treasury investment segment contributed ₹664.1 crore to quarterly PAT (compared to a loss of ₹491.1 crore in Q4 FY26 and ₹628.3 crore in Q1 FY26), demonstrating marked recovery in fund deployment on company balance-sheet capital.#HiddenGems#TechnicalViews#FundamentalViews#StockInNews#WatchOutFor
