BIS Delivery Alignment for Gold & Silver Effective July 13, 2026, MCX updated its Good Delivery standards for gold and silver contracts by empanelling four domestic refiners—Titan Company, Augmont Enterprises, Parker Precious Metals, and Sovereign Metals. This framework aligns physical deliveries directly with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) specifications, allowing local refiners to deliver recycled metal into the exchange ecosystem. Micro Silver100 Contract Rollout The exchange launched Silver100, a micro futures contract with a 100-gram lot size and a tick size of ₹1 per 10 grams. Designed to expand retail and small jeweller participation, the contract trades across six monthly expiries, lowering margin entry thresholds during periods of heightened bullion price swings. FY26 Annual & Q4 Earnings Outperformance For the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026, MCX reported a consolidated net profit (PAT) of ₹530 crore (+291% YoY), alongside operational revenue of ₹889 crore (+205% YoY). For the full financial year 2025–26, consolidated annual net profit reached ₹1,332 crore, driven by record options turnover. The board recommended a final dividend of ₹8 per equity share (face value ₹2). Institutional Equity Inflows In early July market trading, institutional disclosures showed notable portfolio activity in the exchange operator's shares. UTI Mutual Fund acquired 14.65 lakh equity shares of MCX via a bulk deal valued at approximately ₹425 crore, maintaining active institutional holding in the core exchange infrastructure. Strategic Hedging Initiative Under its national campaign "Price in India : Hedge in India," MCX is expanding domestic risk-management participation among corporate treasuries and retail desks. The program focuses on promoting localized index products and automated risk monitoring tools to shift price discovery and hedging activity onto domestic platforms.
