Strong Financial Performance:
NALCO reported a significant increase in net profit for the quarter ended March 2025 (Q4 FY25), more than doubling its profit year-on-year to ₹2,067.23 crore. This contributed to the company achieving its highest-ever net profit and revenue from operations for the full fiscal year 2024-25.
Dividends Declared:
The company has declared a final dividend of ₹1.60 per share for FY2024-25, which will be effective from July 4, 2025. This is in addition to an interim dividend of ₹4 per share declared earlier in February 2025, and another interim dividend of ₹4 per share in November 2024, bringing the total dividend for the fiscal year to ₹10 per share.
Production Milestones:
NALCO has consistently achieved record production and sales figures. In FY2023-24, it recorded its highest-ever cast metal production, bauxite excavation, and metal sales, demonstrating strong operational efficiency and output. The alumina refinery also operated at over 101% capacity utilization.
Expansion Projects and Clarifications:
NALCO's ambitious ₹30,000 crore capital expenditure plan, aimed at a new 0.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) aluminium smelter and mine expansion by FY2030, is reportedly on track. The company recently clarified that these expansion plans have not been deferred, despite earlier media reports of potential delays due to technology partnership and power supply discussions.
