Strategic Partnership with Adani and Vale On February 21, 2026, NMDC signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Adani Ports (APSEZ) and the Brazilian mining giant Vale. The collaboration aims to develop an integrated iron ore blending facility and a dedicated Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Gangavaram Port. This project is expected to increase the port's capacity to 75 MMT and establish it as a regional hub for iron ore exports. Production and Sales Milestone NMDC reported its highest-ever performance for the first nine months of FY26. In January 2026 alone, the company produced 5.56 Million Tonnes (MT) of iron ore—a 9% year-on-year increase. Cumulative production for the fiscal year reached 42.65 MT, while cumulative sales grew by approximately 10% to 39.73 MT, driven largely by strong output from its Chhattisgarh mines. Q3 FY26 Financial Results For the quarter ending December 31, 2025, NMDC recorded a standalone Net Profit (PAT) of ₹1,738 crore on revenue of ₹7,486 crore. The company maintains a strong balance sheet with no defaults on debt. Additionally, the Board of Directors declared a first interim dividend of ₹2.50 per share for the current financial year, with the record date having passed on February 13, 2026. Diversification into Coal and Critical Minerals January 2026 marked the inauguration of NMDC's first coal mine, the Tokisud North Coal Mine in Jharkhand. Furthermore, the Board has approved the formation of a new wholly-owned subsidiary specifically dedicated to the exploration and production of critical minerals, signaling a strategic shift to diversify beyond iron ore. Revised Iron Ore Pricing Effective February 10, 2026, NMDC adjusted its domestic prices. The price for Baila Lump (65.5% Fe) was set at ₹4,700 per tonne, while Baila Fines (64% Fe) were priced at ₹4,000 per tonne. These "Free on Rail" (FOR) prices exclude royalties, GST, and other statutory levies.
