PNBHOUSING
Significant Market Volatility On March 9, 2026, PNB Housing Finance shares experienced a sharp decline of nearly 10%, trading around ₹729.60. This drop was part of a broader market sell-off triggered by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and rising crude oil prices. The stock has hit its 52-week low during this session, continuing a downward trend that has seen it lose over 16% since the start of the year. Leadership Transition and Postal Ballot The company is currently in the middle of a critical postal ballot process, which runs from February 11 to March 12, 2026. Shareholders are voting on the formal appointment of Ajai Kumar Shukla as Managing Director & CEO for a five-year term (effective from his joining in December 2025). The ballot also includes the appointment of Dipankar Mahapatra as a Nominee Director from Punjab National Bank. Results are expected to be announced by March 14, 2026. Focus on Affordable Housing The company’s "Roshni" (Affordable Housing) and Emerging Markets segments continue to be the primary growth engines, expanding by 31% YoY. These segments now contribute roughly 39% of the total retail loan assets and nearly 50% of all new disbursements. The retail loan book remains the core of the business, accounting for 99.7% of the total loan assets as of late 2025. Fundraising and Asset Quality On February 27, 2026, PNB Housing allotted 30,500 Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) as part of its ongoing capital-raising strategy. On the credit front, asset quality continues to show improvement; Gross NPA fell to 1.04% compared to 1.19% a year ago. The company also reported a recovery of ₹49 crore from its written-off pool during the last reported quarter.
