PVR INOX Latest Updates

PVRINOX
Strong Q2 Financial Performance: PVR INOX reported a significant turnaround, posting a net profit of around ₹105 crore to ₹127 crore for the quarter ended September 2025 (Q2 FY26), a sharp increase from a profit/loss in the year-ago period. Consolidated revenue also grew by approximately 12% year-on-year to about ₹1,843 crore. Operational Growth Drivers: The positive results were driven by strong content, which led to a 15% increase in footfalls, reaching 44.5 million admissions for the quarter. The average ticket price (ATP) saw a modest rise to around ₹262. Advertising Revenue and Debt Reduction: Advertising revenue achieved its highest post-pandemic Q2 level at approximately ₹125.6 crore, rising 15% year-on-year. Furthermore, the company reported substantial deleveraging, with net debt more than halving since the PVR-Inox merger. Focus on Content Diversity: The company noted that the strong performance was due to a diverse slate of films, including successful Hindi, Hollywood (like F1: The Movie and Jurassic World: Rebirth), and regional titles. The first half of the fiscal year has been highlighted as one of the strongest for Indian cinema in recent times, driven by a consistent flow of movies. Screen Expansion and Innovation: PVR INOX continues its screen expansion, opening new multiplexes, including an all-laser 4-screen multiplex in Siliguri and an 8-screen megaplex with India's first dine-in auditorium in Bengaluru. The company now operates over 1,760 screens across 354 properties in 111 cities. Market Developments: Recent regulatory news includes the Competition Commission of India (CCI) ordering a probe into the multiplex chain over allegations of charging an "unfair fee" (Virtual Print Fee) to film producers. Separately, the Karnataka High Court temporarily halted the state's ₹200 movie ticket price cap, providing relief to cinema operators.
