Operational Milestones Bikaner Solar Achievement: SJVN's 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project reached a major milestone by generating 1 billion units of electricity on March 20, 2026. This feat was achieved within just three months of starting commercial operations. Hydro Power Record: The Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, India's largest underground hydropower project, recently crossed the historic 150 billion units cumulative generation milestone. Buxar Thermal Project: Unit 1 (660 MW) of the Buxar Thermal Power Plant has successfully completed its 72-hour full-load trial run and is expected to achieve Commercial Operation Date (COD) imminently. Unit 2 is projected to follow within the next 2–3 months. New Projects & Regulatory Approvals Wind-Solar Hybrid Tariff: The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has adopted a tariff of ₹3.19 per unit for SJVN's 1,200 MW interstate transmission system-connected wind-solar hybrid projects. Solar-Plus-Storage: CERC also approved the tariff for SJVN's 1.2 GW solar projects equipped with energy storage systems, reinforcing the company's expansion into firm and dispatchable renewable energy. Nepal & Arunachal Expansion: Construction is set to begin next year on two major Nepal-based hydro projects—Lower Arun (680 MW) and Upper Karnali (900 MW). Additionally, five projects totaling approximately 5 GW are under various stages of development in Arunachal Pradesh.
