Financial Performance and Dividend
Varun Beverages (VBL) recently reported its Q2 and H1 CY2025 financial results. Despite facing challenges from unseasonal rains in India during the peak summer season, the company's net profit (PAT) increased by 5% year-on-year to ₹1,325 crore in Q2, aided by operational efficiencies and lower finance costs. However, revenue from operations saw a slight decrease of 2.5% year-on-year due to the weather-related impact on volumes in the Indian market. The company's international volumes, particularly in South Africa, grew by over 15%, which helped to offset the domestic decline. The board also approved a second interim dividend of ₹0.50 per share.
Business Expansion and Strategic Initiatives
VBL has continued its strategic expansion and backward integration efforts. The company has officially entered the snacks segment by starting the commercial production of PepsiCo's "Cheetos" in its Morocco facility. In a move to enhance its manufacturing capabilities, VBL has also invested in a joint venture, White Peak Refrigeration Private Limited, to produce visi-coolers and other refrigeration equipment. The company is also focused on sustainability, with a new investment in solar power through Jager Renewables to supply power to its facilities in Rajasthan.
Stock Performance
The company's stock has faced some headwinds in 2025, with its share price trading below key moving averages. This comes despite a strong long-term profit growth. The stock has seen a decline over the past year. However, VBL's long-term returns have been very strong, with the stock gaining significantly over the past three and five years.#WatchOutFor#StockInNews#FundamentalViews#EquityResearch#PersonalFinance
