Azad Engineering manufactures high-precision, mission-critical components for aerospace, defence, energy and oil & gas applications. Its products are used in complex rotating and critical equipment, creating relatively high entry barriers because customers require stringent quality certifications, precision manufacturing and long qualification cycles. The company is also expanding its aerospace and defence capabilities, including its recent indigenous expendable turbojet engine supplied to DRDO and the Ministry of Defence.
FY26 was strong, with consolidated revenue rising 31.8% to ₹603 crore, EBITDA increasing 36.6% to ₹225.3 crore and PAT rising 54.4% to ₹133.6 crore. Q1 FY27 maintained the growth trajectory: revenue reached ₹172.6 crore, up 25.9% YoY, EBITDA increased 30.7% to ₹64.4 crore and PAT rose 19.5% to ₹35.2 crore. EBITDA margin improved to approximately 37.3%, demonstrating strong operating profitability, although depreciation and interest costs increased substantially, which moderated PBT growth.
Growth drivers include aerospace outsourcing, defence localisation, new customer programs, capacity expansion and increasing demand from global energy and power-equipment manufacturers.
The company also raised ₹700 crore through QIP, with ₹540 crore already utilised by June 2026, largely toward capital expenditure and corporate purposes. The major risks are high valuation relative to current earnings, execution and capacity-utilisation risk, customer concentration, substantial capex/depreciation and the long qualification cycle in aerospace and defence.
