KEI Industries Ltd – Company Analysis

KEI
KEI Industries Ltd is one of India's leading manufacturers of wires, cables and electrical solutions, serving sectors such as power transmission, real estate, infrastructure, railways, renewable energy, industrial projects and residential construction. The company has evolved from an industrial cable manufacturer into a diversified electrical products business with a strong retail distribution network, exports to over 60 countries and a growing presence in premium housing and infrastructure projects. Its product portfolio includes extra-high voltage cables, house wires, control cables, instrumentation cables and stainless-steel wires. Financially, KEI Industries has delivered outstanding growth over the past few years. In FY26, the company reported revenue of approximately ₹11,748 crore, an increase of around 21% year-on-year, while net profit rose nearly 32% to ₹918 crore. The latest Q1 FY27 results further reinforced this momentum, with revenue increasing by about 23% and profit after tax rising nearly 40%, supported by strong demand in the wires and cables segment, improved operating efficiency and margin expansion. The company maintains healthy return ratios, a relatively low debt position and strong cash generation. Promoter holding remains stable, while institutional ownership from mutual funds and foreign investors continues to increase. Looking ahead, KEI Industries is well positioned to benefit from India's infrastructure development, rapid electrification, renewable energy investments, data centre expansion and increasing housing demand. Ongoing capacity expansion at its Sanand facility, growing export opportunities and a larger contribution from high-margin retail sales are expected to support long-term earnings growth. However, investors should monitor fluctuations in copper and aluminium prices, execution of expansion projects, competitive intensity and valuation levels, as these factors can influence profitability.
