Rectangle Chart Pattern: PART 1

this is Part 2 read part 1 for prior info 4. Bullish or Bearish? A rectangle pattern itself is a neutral pattern, meaning that it doesn’t suggest a specific direction of the breakout. The breakout direction will determine whether the pattern is bullish or bearish: • Bullish Breakout: When the price breaks above the resistance level, it signals that buyers have gained control, and the price is likely to continue upward. • Bearish Breakout: When the price breaks below the support level, it signals that sellers have gained control, and the price is likely to continue downward. 5. How to Trade the Rectangle Pattern • Entry: o Enter a trade when the price breaks out of the rectangle pattern. A breakout above the resistance is a long (buy) signal, while a breakout below the support is a short (sell) signal. o It's important to wait for the breakout to be confirmed. A breakout can be confirmed when the price closes outside the range or shows strong momentum in the breakout direction. • Stop Loss: o for a long trade, the stop loss can be placed just below the broken resistance level (now acting as support). o for a short trade, the stop loss can be placed just above the broken support level (now acting as resistance). • Price Target: o the target price after a breakout is typically calculated by measuring the height of the rectangle (the vertical distance between the support and resistance levels). o After a bullish breakout, add this height to the breakout point to estimate the price target. o After a bearish breakout, subtract this height from the breakout point to estimate the price target. Conclusion The rectangle pattern is a useful tool in a trader's arsenal as it clearly shows periods of consolidation. Recognizing a breakout from the rectangle can give traders the opportunity to catch significant price moves. While it is a neutral pattern, patience and confirmation of the breakout direction are key to successfully trading it. READ PDF FOR MORE DETAILS
