The Core Principles of Risk Management The main principles of risk management revolve around the following concepts: a. Risk-to-Reward Ratio • The risk-to-reward ratio is a fundamental concept in trading that helps you decide whether a trade is worth taking based on potential losses and gains. • For example, a 2:1 risk-to-reward ratio means you're willing to risk $1 to make $2. How to Use the Risk-to-Reward Ratio : • Set Entry, Stop-Loss, and Take-Profit : Based on your analysis, you define the point where you’ll enter the market, the point where you’ll exit with a loss (stop-loss), and the point where you’ll take profits (take-profit). • Evaluate Trades : Before entering a trade, ensure that the potential reward justifies the amount of risk you're taking.
