Sangam (India) Ltd — Stock Report

SANGAMIND
What Sangam Does & Its Positioning Sangam India is a fully integrated textile company based in Rajasthan, with operations ranging from yarn production (cotton, synthetic, PV-blended) to fabric manufacturing (denim, shirting, etc.) and garmenting. Recent Financials & Trends • For the fiscal year ending March 2025, Sangam’s revenue rose modestly (~8–9%) compared to the prior year, reaching around ₹2,856.95 crore. Net profit dropped ~22% YoY to about ₹31.80 crore. • In Q4 FY25, revenue was marginally up YoY (~2%) but declined QoQ. • In Q1 FY26, revenue grew ~15% YoY and ~14% QoQ. Key Financial Metrics & Ratios • Price/Earnings (TTM) is very high (~100×), indicating the market is expecting strong future earnings or that the current earnings are depressed. • Return on Equity (ROE) is modest, around 3.6%, showing that the company isn’t generating high returns from its equity base. • Debt-to-Equity is around 1.13, suggesting the company has a fair amount of leverage. Strengths • Strong revenue base and international exposure. Exports and capacity expansion have helped top-line growth. • Diverse product mix across yarns, fabrics, denim and garments helps spread risk. • Operating in a sector where India has competitive advantage; demand potential remains for textiles globally. Risks & Weaknesses • Profitability is under pressure: high costs, depreciation, possibly overheads/delivery/logistics are squeezing margins. • Very volatile profits; strong revenue growth isn’t translating into stable bottom-line. • High valuation (P/E) makes downside risk meaningful if performance deteriorates further. Outlook & Verdict Sangam India looks like it is in a transition phase. It has good scale, capacity, and product diversity, but recent quarters show that translating growth into profits is a challenge. The margin squeeze and the steep fall in profitability indicate either operational inefficiencies or cost headwinds (or both).
